How often have you heard from network marketers, recruiting is the lifeblood of an organization? There are various methods and systems out there that people utilize to build their team. There are several elements of recruiting effectively that we need to master over time. It is where we need to focus our attention if we are to develop a long term sustainable residual income in our home based business.
I am sick and tired of all the crap out there promoting instant success. If someone is telling you it’s easy, they are lying. Most of the stories of quick success in Network Marketing happened because of a strong sphere of influence. Someone with years of Network Marketing calling all of their contacts about a new opportunity is the most common and certainly the quickest way to build a residual income. Sure they might have had instant success with their current company, but likely they have been in the Home Based Business industry for many years, building their contact base. So guess what, they have access to a few hundred people. Of course they will look like an overnight success story that took many years in reality.
Having a strong list of personal contacts is like any other successful business. Think about that for a moment. The lifeblood of any business is actually your contacts and customers. Through diligent, patient hard work one can create a tremendous circle of friends that respect them and over time some will join you in your business. It takes time. However, we as leaders and coaches bringing someone into our home based business, have a responsibility to teach them correct building strategies. I personally have invested the past 8 to 10 years utilizing various methods and I know of several really powerful methods to build a large organization, which I have incorporated into my business.
Over the past 10 years in the trenches of the home based business industry, I have picked up many ideas and tips on effectively building a solid business. Some are good, but many I found just re-cycled garbage. Here’s several tips that you can incorporate.
You can phone hundreds of leads day after day keeping notes and following up effectively. Side Note – if you are purchasing leads from one of those companies, stop wasting your money. There are other ways to create your own leads that are unique to you. I use a system called veretekk. Many people like the one on one interaction. You can attend chamber of commerce meetings, community functions, social events etc. Additional methods, call professionals like Real Estate professionals, mortgage brokers and insurance agents. You can advertise and follow up with people.
As more people come online, they are looking for a viable way to build via the internet. One method I found was to “shake hands online” and get to know people and create an online presence via social networking. The important point is there are several powerful ways to build a team for your Home Based Business and create a residual income, but it really does require you to get to work and team up with a mentor that can assist you in reaching your goals.
Have you ever heard the term – its all about exposure? People buy WHO we are, not what we have. Remember that. Don’t think for a minute you have to come across as Mr. or Mrs. Network Marketer who has a really successful home based business if that is not the case. Has anyone ever suggested you, fake it until you make it. Stop the insanity if you are doing that. Be yourself and tell the truth.
As individuals, we all have unique life experiences to share, special gifts and ability, just BE real and over time by doing the right activities, you too can create a residual income. Do so and get exposure by sharing in a respectful way, being a friend. Add value in every relationship. A kind word here, some compassion there, a little praise and encouragement when needed, just share your stories of life. That’s what successful people do to build large teams for their own home based business. In other words, its all about relationships. I realize more today the value of that phrase and the deep meaning behind that phrase.
When you do that enough times, people will be attracted to you for who you are. The secret is to turn online relationships into telephone friendships. Always invite people to talk on the phone. Make sure your intentions are honest. People follow people who they trust and feel comfortable around.
Our objective is to have about 150 telephone friends in this manner. Do you realize how many people they could refer you to? Thousands! In one year, out of 150 friends, you can be assured that 3 or 4 will be looking for an opportunity every month. Which ones? Who knows, the only way to find out is by staying in touch and being a friend. People are not stupid, if you are in home based business, they know it. Share your passion for what you are doing when you can. It is your enthusiasm for your Vision that draws people to your home business. Offer assistance and real value to help them move their business forward, not yours. This is where many people in my opinion make the critical mistake. They vomit their opportunity all over the person on a first contact. Build their trust and in time they will ask what you do.
If one does this, after the initial list has been created which can take months or a year to truly develop, the Law of Averages guarantees at least one person a month will join you in your home based business. It’s a lot of work before results start showing up. This is why most people quit and stay broke. It doesn’t matter what program you are in, if you recruit one solid person in this manner every month, one day you will have an awesome residual income.
Like I have mentioned time and time again, it takes patience, faith, and daily discipline. In my opinion, being part of a team of like-minded people sharing a uniting Vision of the future, passionate about a product mission in an environment that inspires, encourages and teaches is the most effective method to accomplish this. There are no free rides or short cuts. It requires work and if you are allergic to that, then find something else to do.
