I have spoke to thousands of people over the years, most really don’t have the core desire to make it happen. They sit on the sidelines for the game of life only dreaming of what they want. Confused by all the choices online? I know I was many years ago while searching online for the perfect home business. There are literally thousands of companies to choose from for your Home Based Business. So unlike the super star network marketing trying to pressure you to sign up, tell them to take a hike. After you agree to the terms of the companies policies and sign on the dotted line, you become a distributor for the product or service. You are not an employee of the company and this is usually made quite clear. However, you do need to follow their policies because it is them that pay your the money. While it is your own business, you are still connected to the company.
Some things you need to know if you are involved in an network marketing company. All companies tell you that when you join with them, you now have your own business. In reality, that is only partially true because everything you do related to your new MLM business is dictated by the company. That doesn’t mean its a bad thing, but you just need to be aware of that upfront prior to joining. How you market your business is strictly regulated by company policies. If you have any plans of altering how they suggest things be done, you may have to get written permission. Doesn’t sound much like operating your own home based business opportunity.
I do prefer network marketing companies rather than trying to build my own company for several important reasons. The company you are affiliated has done the manufacturing, building a head office, hiring staff, creating an IT structure and in many cases investing millions of dollars to create the company. So they do have some rights and if you don’t like it, then develop your own product or service and go and market it yourself. What can you do as an independent distributor for an MLM company and still consider yourself as a home based business opportunity owner?
The foundation of building a successful business will start with your attitude and overall mindset. Yes, I know it sounds fluffy, but your attitude determines everything. If you want success, then stop thinking like an employee and start acting like a business owner. You have to realize that you are in business for you, even though you are promoting a companies products or services. Be creative and learn how to market the products, find customers and promote your business in different ways. One problem with MLM’s is the replicated web site that you get.
Most people that join a network marketing company believe that because they have an affiliate website they are in business. That is only partially true. If you send your contacts specifically to your website, then sure it will work. Otherwise, from an SEO standpoint, affiliate websites will never be seen by the search engines spiders because its all duplicate content. You should have your own, although you most likely will have to have your site approved by the MLM company if you have their products or services on it. Oh one important thing to consider prior to getting involved in any company is whether or not you can market on the internet. Depending on their policies, some or so strict that you can’t. Most are flexible, yet careful and will have to approve any website you create that has any links to your affiliate website.
How do you get around this in your Home Based Business? Don’t mention anything about products or services on your web site. Just have lots of information about the problems your particular product or service is used for. Then offer solutions for their problems. In other words offer value based information to address a concern or problem. You do not want to sell them anything at this time. Have a way for your visitors to get in touch with you, because if they like what they read they will want to get more information. Remember you are a business owner not an employee. You operate your own home based business opportunity.
As long as you realize up front that it will require lots of work, dedication and patience. Rome was not built in a week and neither will your home business. With some good guidance from coach or mentor, you will be well on your way.
