Internet Home Based Business

I am doubtful that anyone ever imagined how big the Internet would be. And who would have thought that it would be used to conduct business? An Internet home based business is started every day, with the owners full of hope and dreams of being successful. Many are successful, but most are not. In fact between 90% and 95% of home based businesses fail. The reasons for this high failure rate are varied but none the less real. People are just unprepared when they start their business venture.

For many people who take advantage of a business opportunity, they over look one important thing: their health. Often when we talk about a successful home business, we just talk about the Business. Is it turning a profit? How are you doing is translated by most people to mean – how much profit is coming in the door. Yes, your home business needs to turn a profit, no denying that. But I want to talk about you today, you and your business, the two are related. So how is your business? It is only as good, as strong and as healthy as you are. This may seem like a different view of a home business but if you are not healthy and taking care of yourself it is likely your business will suffer.

Aside from the numerous home based business related responsibilities one must pay attention to, there are other important non-business considerations as well. What are they? There is family, friends, nutrition, exercise, getting outdoors, fun activities and spiritual path (whatever that means to you), work time and sleep, just to name a few considerations. As a business mentor some of the questions I ask a new client or team member is: Tell me a little bit about yourself. Do you have a family, and such? Share with me about your social life, friends, activities, church or spiritual life. We talk about how important self care is, because it isn’t just important, it’s VITAL.

Money is not everything. And it certainly isn’t worth losing your health in the pursuit of wealth. Just as your home based business will require regular tending and responsibilities to develop it, so will your plan for personal health and vitality. It is so easy to start working harder and longer hours when working for yourself, working to the point of exhaustion and burnout. That will not get you want you want which is a successful home business> and family.

Having an Internet home based business may even require more concern for your health due to the fact that there is no physical activity involved at all. You are stuck in front of your computer all day. Have a personal plan just like you do a business plan. I humbly suggest you start each day (if you have a job and also work at home, or if you work at home only), by getting up earlier enough that you have quiet time for things that set your day on the right track. For example: meditation, prayer, contemplation, journaling your blessings and your feelings, yoga or some form of exercise. I don’t think I know a truly successful person that doesn’t take care of the inner self.

Don’t lose sight of your nutritional needs if you have an Internet business. Your body needs some activity and good food. If you neglect your body you will not be able to enjoy the success you achieve with your business. Nutrition becomes essential. Let go of the survival on coffee to just keep going and the sugar rush, fast foods and eating over your key board. Sit down and take breaks to enjoy your meals. Weather permitting, get outside and have your lunch break. A sound diet of real foods, well prepared and supplemented with natural vitamins and supplements will help to keep your health strong.

It will require some discipline on your part but you must make sure that you take care of your health. Take time, no not take time, MAKE TIME for family and friends or you may wake up someday with a very profitable Internet home based business and find you’ve lost your family. It happens so make sure family time is held as sacred. I hope you hear my thoughts on this. I’ve seen great success with home businesses and I’ve seen others make great income and lose everything important. Take care of yourself and your business, both are important. Here’s to a grand life – you deserve it.

A Unique Business Opportunity

Starting A Home Based Business

As the global economy worsens, more and more people are turning to the Internet with the intention of starting a home based business. Many people are joining network marketing companies without having a good understanding of how MLM really works. Also, they are planning on using the Internet as the main method of marketing their business, and yet they have very little knowledge of how the Internet works. If you are serious about being in business, and you would rather make money than lose it, you should learn the various aspects of owning an Internet MLM business.

If you haven’t heard of the term SEO, you should take the time to find out what it is and how it can affect your business on the Internet. Starting a home based business involves taking the time to lean about operating a business, and learning about SEO, or search engine optimization, is certainly a must do! For example, you may have heard the term “long tail keywords” and wonder what it means. I just heard the term several months ago and to be honest, I was unsure of what it was. Well, now I know…and I’ll try to explain it for you.

Let me start with the term keywords. When people are looking for something on the Internet they type in the key words they are searching. The term long tail keywords is just a new term for longer keyword phrases. When you start working on your SEO for your home based business opportunity, what you need to do at the very onset is arrive at the best domain name and keywords and keyword phrases to attract high quality traffic to your web site. The keywords you arrive at should be based on what people will enter into their browsers to find your site. These should be phrases that people would use that are highly interested in what you have to offer. You are looking for traffic that are very interested in what you have to offer.

Just how important are these keywords and long tail keywords? Remember, these are the words that people type in their search engine when they want to find something related to those words. Well, these keywords and keywords phrases (long tails) are the life blood of your Internet business. Keep this in mind when starting a home based business. They are the driving force behind everything you do for SEO. Getting this right is the single most important thing you can do for your SEO campaign and for your home based business. There is absolutely “nothing” more important than the keywords terms you plan on using on your web site! Nothing!!

Starting a home based business probably means that you are not very familiar with many of the technical terms involved with the Internet. I have to warn you, especially if you are new, beware of the so-called “experts”. They prey on those that do not know. Let us say you are planning on hiring someone on to do your SEO for you. You are going to pay pretty good money for that service. Let us say you have a web site and have obtained a domain name for tasty morsels.com. You are selling high quality candies. The SEO person might tell you they can get those keywords “tasty morsel” on the front page of Google in no time. They submit several articles and sure enough, you are there! Who really gives a crap about that? Who is going to search for the term “tasty morsel” and find your web site? Nobody!

Make sure the person or company you are paying to promote your web site know what they are doing. So be sure you learn enough about SEO in order to ask the right questions. With the example above, the person who knows how SEO works will assist you in getting another domain name. For those that do not know, a good domain name will support at least 2 or 3 keywords. They will analyze what you are selling and use a good keyword analysis tool to explore all available options. The goal here is to get keywords and keywords through combinations of words to bring quality traffic to your site. Once that has all been determined, your web site will be optimized for those words. Article writing will be done using those keywords and phrases. All right, I am done spouting off. Let us get back to long tail keywords for your home based business opportunity.

As you learn about SEO and how important it is in starting a home based business, you will quickly realize how important it is to use specific words on your web site. Within your SEO campaign, you will probably be targeting keywords that will be difficult to get to the top of the search engines to say the least. Long tail keyword phrases are extensions of the difficult keywords that you would dearly love to have. Let us take for example your main keyword phrase. If might have a competition of around 50 million web sites and has around 2000 searches a day. This would be hard to obtain. Let us say that you use an off shoot of it which is longer and gets less searches a day. Let us say that you choose one that has 500 thousand web sites listed as your competition and receives 100 searches a day. That particular long tail keyword phrase would be much easier to obtain. I think that would be the way to go.

Although the keywords and keyword phrases you use will have fewer searches, there can be a benefit to this strategy. The fact that you are aiming for something with fewer searches means your competition will be much lower as well. You can drive even more traffic however by going for other long tail keyword phrases. While doing SEO for the longer keyword phrases, remember that your main keywords are imbedded in those longer phrases. This means that everything you do for the longer phrases helps to bring up your main keyword phrase.

Starting a home based business can be one of the best decisions you may ever make. But be sure to learn about SEO and how it can help you build your business. By working on long tail keywords for your home based business opportunity, you are actually getting your web site to the top of the search engine rankings for high end keywords as well!

Starting a Home Based Business

Difficult economic times have many different effects on people from all walks of life. Many will lose their jobs, some may have to take pay reductions and some will need to get assistance from charitable organizations in order to meet their obligations. Times like these can be very disheartening for many people. However, another effect of a downturn in the economy is the up swing in the start up of home based businesses. People have to find other ways to make an income and many will look at starting a home based business.

It certainly is not an easy decision to make. Are you serious about starting a home based business on the Internet and quitting your 9 to 5, if you haven’t already lost it? It has some risks involved but the rewards are also enticing. But the bottom line in times like these is that many have to find another way to earn a living. They are forced to make the decision or simply give up.

In good economic times people usually start a home based business for different reasons. There are a lot of people who dream of starting a home based business to be able to spend more time with family and independence. That’s all good but, before jumping headfirst into starting a home based business, whatever your reasons are, you should take a reality check and honestly answer a few questions. These questions are even more important in economic times such as the present.

There are many questions you must answer for yourself if you are serious about starting a home based business. One of the most important questions you must ask is do you have what it takes to operate a business? Are you committed and do you have the perseverance? Also, do you have the support of your family? Are you willing to take the time to learn the skills required? Being in business is serious business! Be sure of yourself before you decide.

Don’t proceed until you have the answers to these questions. It may seem trivial but it is part of planning for success. You need to know the answers to these important questions before you accept the challenge. Finally, can you afford to lose your current salary and put out extra money (even though it is a small amount) for the initial startup costs? It could be one to three years before you start to make a positive return and months before you make any income at all. And the really important question for everyone; if you have health benefits with your current job, do you have another means of obtaining insurance?

As you can see there are many factors that have to be given careful consideration before you take the big step. You will most likely have to deal with those friends you will think you are crazy to start a business. However, starting a home based business and working for yourself can be a great opportunity for the right person, but not everyone is right for it. The key and often forgotten question to ask yourself is whether you truly love your business idea. If you’re doing it because you think it’s a good business idea but you don’t love what you’re doing, then you might as well go back to your day job and forget about it. Remember? You didn’t like your day job either and didn’t like the boss. For you it would end up being a miserable venture because it will be all-consuming, and you would probably struggle to make it successful. So, the choice is yours and yours alone.

Answer the questions and make an educated decision. Weight the ricks to the benefits. If you feel you have what it takes, start your search on the Internet for a home based business opportunity and find the perfect fit for you. Never mind the talk about scams all over the Internet, scams were here before the Internet, so learn how to avoid them and continue your search. Are you ready for success, but more important to do the actual work required?
