Home Based Business

Looking for a way out of the corporate daily grind?

Would you like to take control once in for all of your financial future?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how secure is your financial future?

What is the best Home Based Business?

How do you find the best home based business? How about one that you start with your own two hands – not the one in the ad or the one your friend is promoting.

How do you start a successful home based business? The secret of success is look at it as a long term investment because it is. Most people get discouraged after 3 to 6 months because their home business is not generating any profits. The harsh reality, expect it to take 3 to 5 years or longer to make a reasonable profit. Is it worth it all? Well, talk to any person that is truly successful in all area of their life and ask them.

Think of your talents as the things you’re really good at. They’re like personality traits. For instance, you may be a very creative person, or a person who’s really good at attending to details or a person with a gift for communicating. Your talents are the base for any successful business venture, including a Home Based Business.

Look at is in the following way. The difference between talents and skills is that talents are passive and skills are active. Or, to put it another way, you’re born with talents but you develop skills over time as you learn. For instance, a creative person may have excellent skills for drawing or writing or design. A person who has a talent for attending to detail may have strong accounting or organizational skills.

The procedure I’m outlining here will work for starting any kind of business, but as we’re focusing on home-based businesses, the question is, “With these talents and skills, what kind of home based business could I start?”

Suppose you’re one of those people who has accounting and organizational skills and the talents to back them. Some of the home business ideas you come up with could include:

Tax preparation

Bookkeeping

Business manager

Professional organizer

And that’s just four ideas from our limited premise here. You, of course, have more than one or two skills, so you’ll find that your list of possible home business ideas is much longer.

Create as many home business ideas as you can when first starting out. Don’t limit yourself as you list home business ideas. List all your ideas at first; then cross off choices later.

The fact is that not all businesses are going to work well as home based businesses, and some won’t work at all. You are not going to be able to start a manufacturing business in a residential neighborhood, for example, and any home based business that involves a lot of clients coming and going is sure to upset the neighbors.

If you are intent on starting a home based business where you actually get to work at home, also cross off any business that could be operated as a home based business but wouldn’t allow you to work at home.

Many people who want to start home based businesses stop here. They’ve come up with an idea for a home based business that they like and feel they’ll be good at, so they plunge into it at this point.

Like I mentioned above, the secret to starting a home based business that will succeed is to make your passion your Home Based Business. However, do not expect any free rides for success because there are none.

Without a doubt, one of the most common factors why people do not start their own home based business is that four letter word…fear! What is it that causes so much fear in people? This fear is so great that it prevents people from taking that first step. And the first step is the most difficult one to take. Each step after the first gets easier. Just what are people afraid of when it comes to making the decision to start a home based business?

Is this just a story or racket people are telling themselves because they are lazy or is it really something else? You have probably heard the phrase, my perception is my reality. Although fear is created only in a person’s mind in this example. For people starting a Home Based Business there a number of perceived fears. And that is natural. It’s our defense mechanism kicking in telling us to be careful. To take that first step one simply has to acknowledge their fears and then deal with each one as they move towards success in operating their home based business. Let me discuss two of what I think are the greatest fears people have when considering the idea of starting a home business.

I would suggest the first fear involves money. What if the business doesn’t work? I’ll lose my money. Business is all about money. You start a business to make money. And guess what? The majority of the time, a business will fail. It’s a fact of life, people sometimes lose money when they start their own business. It would be impossible to list all the reasons why some home based businesses fail, but don’t let investing some money prevent you from starting your own home based business. Most MLM opportunities are only a few hundred dollars to start up and if you can’t risk that much please forget about your own Home Based Business. You’ll be so worried about losing a few hundred dollars that it will actually be the cause of your failure. You need to get past that obstacle and look on the upside of what it will mean for you and your family when you do succeed. Life is about challenges and how we tackle them. Do you want to be 65 years old and be full of regrets or know that you gave your all to make success a reality.

Many people have a fear of failure and are not willing to risk anything to be successful. Forget about the few hundred dollars involved, the fear of failing at something prevents so many people from doing things that they really want to. The fear of failure prevents them from taking that first step. Perhaps people need to stop looking in the review mirror of life and start focusing on what they can achieve today. You can plan for your future, but only live in the moment.

You need to really think about what you want out of your life. What is it about this fear of failing? Is personal pride stopping you? What will my friends think if I start a home based business and it fails? Will they think I’m stupid? Will they laugh at me? Will my family be embarrassed? Guess what? Some people think this way about you now and you don’t even have a home based business! Who cares what other think if you start a home based business? It’s your business! Having a home based business can be very rewarding. Don’t let fear prevent you from taking that first step. Learn what you have to. The key to success and if you were to ask any successful person what they did to become successful, they would say action. They didn’t wait for life to happen, they lived life. What will be your story?

Struggling to get by and pay the bills? Like many people today, the job market is challenging to say the least. Corporations are down sizing at record numbers. That has in a positive way, forced people to seriously consider the option of starting a home based business. Many people who start a home business usually do so by joining a Multi Level Marketing company. I believe it attracts many people because most do not require a large financial investment and many of them actually have good products. Furthermore, most of them have a system in place for you to follow. The system usually includes your own web site and a back office that has an abundance of material on how to operate your home based business. With all the tools, systems and great products/services available, then why such a large failure rate?

Looking back over the past 20 years, I have come to a simple realization for the Home Based Business industry. Sometimes the company business plan is not the way for an individual to do business. The biggest mistake made by those starting in a home based MLM company is making that all important list of everyone you know. Then trying to recruit them into your wonderful business where everyone will get rich. Sounds easy. Just tell everyone you know that you have this great opportunity to work at home. What could simpler? The fact of the matter, approaching family and friends is the last thing you or me want to ever do. Right? Absolutely.

You heard the term duplication. That’s what almost all of the MLM companies teach you. The problem with this plan, and it is the same plan for most MLM companies, is that if someone is not looking for an opportunity to work at home then you are wasting your time. Eventually you will run out of people on the list and some people will absolutely start avoiding you. They are not interested in a Home Based Business. Plain and simple. Save yourself a lot of headaches. Stay away from friends and family. When they see you being successful with your home based business they will ask you about it. There are so many other and more efficient ways to build a business with the internet.

To sum up my point about the high failure rate. People fail because they follow a plan that is designed to fail. Stop the insanity of the duplication business model. The rest of the business community out there follows a business plan of delegation. Don’t believe me, but check out the facts for yourself on Google.

If you are sick and tired of the same old game in MLM, then consider the option of buying customers. Yes, you heard it right. Buy customers each month and build a long term and stable business. Don’t waste your money on purchasing leads. You’ll be discouraged very, very quickly. Having a home based business can be very rewarding. I like the stress free way of building a home based business now by buying customers. No more chasing around my team members at the end of the month so they qualify. Nope, those days are long gone.
